Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: The Ecological Promise of Our Hotel

Commemorating Recycling Day, which was celebrated recently, we want to share with you our efforts to contribute to this important cause.

In 2023 alone, Hotel Zuana responsibly managed 55,971 kilograms of recyclable waste. We are aware that a considerable amount of waste is generated daily; however, our commitment to the environment inspires us to do our part every day.

Today, we share with you five key actions in proper waste management.

  1. Proper waste separation: We established waste separation systems in different categories: paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, and metal. This allows materials to be collected and processed separately from non-recyclable waste.
  2. Installation of containers: We installed clearly identified recycling bins in visible and accessible areas for our guests and staff, such as hallways, lobbies, and common areas. These are classified into categories like: usable waste, organic usable waste, and non-usable waste. Additionally, in the rooms, guests can find different bins to deposit waste according to its classification.
  3. Operational recycling management: We have a team member whose primary role is to separate recyclable materials by type: paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, and metal, to facilitate their processing. Furthermore, this person examines the materials destined for recycling to ensure they are clean, free of contaminants, and ready for disposal.
  4. Sustainable partnerships: We form partnerships to facilitate the proper management of usable waste, including Green Points and the Zero Waste program.
  5. Education and awareness: We provide information to guests and staff about the importance of recycling and how to do it correctly. This includes educational materials in the rooms, information in common areas, and training sessions for the team.

The above summarizes the actions that, day by day and as a team, we carry out to contribute responsibly to the conservation of the environment.
